New Razor - Foil Suggestions

I've begun the search for a new razor and would like some suggestions/opinions on foils (rotary shavers always gave me razor burn and irritation). I currently use a Braun 360 and have also used a Panasonic that I bought from Sharper Image about 4 years ago. I don't have it anymore and don't recall which Panasonic it was. I just remember it was the new hot razor at the time and was a wet/dry.

The Braun 360 does a great job on my face but has always left patches of hair/stubble on my neck, especially my lower neck and around the adams apple area. I end up having to go over those areas with a *****. I do use williams lectric shave.

Are there any new or newer foils out there that have solved the neck hair problem?

I'm also willing to listen to suggestions for a rotary, but am concerned with the irritation.

Thanks in advance. I haven't been on this board or the previous board for a very long time, but I remember everyone being very helpful.

I have been using Philips shavers (8240 xl) for the last little while and have noticed that with 2 or 3 day stubble, the "lift and cut" system tends to yank and pinch the longer hairs.

This morning I used my very old low-end Remington R-950 rotary on 3 or 4 days of stubble and there was virtually no pinching. Maybe a snag but definitely no yanking like the Philips.

Do the higher end Remington rotaries also work well with long stubble?
I just got a new RQ10 replacement head for my Arcitec 1050. I noticed looking inside the head that the steel has a pink/gold looking hue to it. I read somewhere on a blog or Amazon post someone saying that they believed the blades come with burrs on them That must be true because I can hear a lot of metal abraision and the new head and it is at least twice as loud as the old head. I was getting a decent shave with the old but just thought I'd get a new set. In the future I'm not going to replace the head until I really feel the thing is completley shot. I suspect that when Norelco stopped making this razor that they are letting the quality replacement heads slip away. Tha really ticks me. Planned obsolescence. Why don't they just pefect a razor and stick with it for goodness sake. In my book this was the one.

I don't know what's happened. I have had some stress related issues due to a new job I took late last December. This whole year has been rough. I'm not ruling out that stress has had an affect on my face.

I've tried everything short of trying brand new razors. I have an old Panasonic, Norelco, Braun and my newer Braun at home. I've tried all 4 and even bought new blades for all but the Panasonic to no avail. Also picked up new foils for the Brauns. My beard is not getting cut well at all. I'm getting ingrowns for the first time since I became a dedicated electric shaver back in Nov '04. Not necessarily from what usually causes ingrowns. I'm having whiskers not getting picked up and cut, then growing into my face. Mainly on the side of my face I sleep on. So it's not an irritation thing like I used to and most people deal with.

The 3-head Norelco style razors still cut too close and give me the usual type ingrows, which are harder to deal with since the hair is...

The Norelco 1290X has a pressure sensitive switch that only works when the shaver is awake. Any movement of the shaver causes concentric circles to appear around the on/off switch and allows it to work.
When the shaver is constantly moved while off it enters what is called the "travel lock". The concentric circles no longer appear on movement. A little lock appears instead. The shaver is turned on as usual. It seems that the only purpose of the "travel lock" is to replace the concentric circles with a lock symbol therefore maybe saving a little power. There is no real lock. Why is it called a travel lock?
