My questions to you are:

What are these ''CloseCut'' blades that come installed on the shaver ?

The manual states that you should use HQ56 blades, are the CloseCut blades they same as HQ56 blades?

Can you put HQ3 Double Action blades ?

The Braun 360 does a great job on my face but has always left patches of hair/stubble on my neck, especially my lower neck and around the adams apple area. I end up having to go over those areas with a *****. I do use williams lectric shave.

Are there any new or newer foils out there that have solved the neck hair problem?

I'm also willing to listen to suggestions for a rotary, but am concerned with the irritation.

This morning I used my very old low-end Remington R-950 rotary on 3 or 4 days of stubble and there was virtually no pinching. Maybe a snag but definitely no yanking like the Philips.

Do the higher end Remington rotaries also work well with long stubble? I am trying to upgrade to a shaver practical for several days of growth and am wondering if this is the brand to stick with.

I've tried everything short of trying brand new razors. I have an old Panasonic, Norelco, Braun and my newer Braun at home. I've tried all 4 and even bought new blades for all but the Panasonic to no avail. Also picked up new foils for the Brauns. My beard is not getting cut well at all. I'm getting ingrowns for the first time since I became a dedicated electric shaver back in Nov '04. Not necessarily from what usually causes ingrowns. I'm having whiskers not getting picked up and cut, then growing into my face. Mainly on the side of my face I sleep on. So it's not an irritation thing like I used to and most people deal with.

Background:  I'm currently using a panasonic es 8068 whose battery is finally wearing out.  Panasonic won't sell me one to replace myself - they outsource all their "repairs" to smallappliance.com in NY.  {rant on} They are a joke!  14 bus days turnaround once they receive it, refuse to give me an estimate on what it would cost to replace the battery, and email/phone messages to management their go unanswered {rant off}

Now I actually like the shave of the pana - this is the 2nd one I've owned (previous one was es 8164).  Prior to these, I've had two brauns: 2501 & 5416 - so I'm not opposed to going back to the braun.

So - I think I have a couple of questions:
1. Is the braun lithium battery consumer replaceable?  If not - anyone have experience w/bruan customer service?

Anyway. 

This morning I got up and already had unsightly stubble, so out came the Norelco.  Cleaned it up.  And you know what?  It's very nearly blade smooth, on a single pass!  Works great!  And, unlike when I first used the rotary on my face, I have no razor burn or bumps.

Anyone else have some tips for those of us who embrace the bare scalp?  With this heat, I may not have hair on my head for a few more months!  Heck, I may keep it this short for winter, too!  :)
